Female bicyclist dead after crash on Route 1

A bicyclist hit by a car last week in South Kingstown has died from her injuries.

22-year-old Mary Wilk from Cheshire, Mass passed away on Saturday.

Last Tuesday, police say she was riding her bike on Route 1 near Jerry Brown Farm Road when she was hit from behind by a car driven by 88-year-old Claire Archambault of South Kingstown.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors.

Police are still investigating.
