A Cold Front Brings Heat and Humidity Relief
The muggy conditions continue tonight with lots of clouds and patchy fog developing near dawn. After a quiet start to Thursday with mostly cloudy skies and temps near 70, it becomes more active in the afternoon. Unsettled weather is likely Thursday afternoon and evening as a cold front comes through. The front will bring a 60% chance of showers and the chance of thunderstorms. Thursday will be hot and soupy with highs in the upper-80s, but feel like the 90s. Friday brings back the lovely summer weather of last week. Expect tons of sunshine, highs near 82 and dropping dew points making for decreasing humidity. The weekend is looking great with sunshine both Saturday and Sunday. Highs Saturday top near 83 while temps rise to 88 for Sunday. Monday looks good too with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper-70s. Tuesday will be pretty much the same with highs near 78 and mostly sunny skies. Wednesday will be mostly sunny and even cooler with highs near 75. NOTE: if you are beach-bound next week, check in with your local lifeguard for the potential of rip currents. Tropical Storm Erin will likely become Hurricane Erin by Friday afternoon. It is estimated to continue to develop into a category 3 major hurricane by Sunday. The path of the storm is projected to graze the Caribbean to the north and turn up the eastern seaboard. Models are in excellent agreement of it remaining offshore of the continental US, but we will see rising seas and an elevates rip current risk as the storm passes by.
