A guilt-free way of disposing holiday cards

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Although it may have been nice to see a familiar face on a greeting card this season, the time has come to say goodbye to holiday clutter. Staples announced their new guilt-free way of disposing holiday cards through their shredding and recycling services.
According to USPS studies, over 1 billion holiday greeting cards are sold each year.
From Dec. 31 to Feb. 3, Staples is welcoming customers to dispose of old holiday cards at any of their locations in exchange for 75% off their next order of custom cards in 2024, as well as additional coupons.
The company also shared their thoughts regarding privacy concerns, “Your personal information and photos are safeguarded through the secure practices implemented by Staples. [We] prioritize your privacy by employing a document shredding process before recycling any materials, ensuring that sensitive information is thoroughly destroyed and cannot be accessed or misused”.
