NEWPORT, R.I (WLNE) — The Preservation Society of Newport announced Tuesday that the Isaac Bell House will open on July 27.

Guide-led tours will be available on Saturdays and Sundays from July 27 to Aug. 31 this year.

In November of 2023, the society reported that they began a $3.3 million restoration and preservation of the house. This saw the house have its exterior shingles replaced, restoration of the shutters and windows, the reporting of the lower-level brick and chimneys, and more.

The society said the house was built between 1881 and 1883 for Issac Bell Jr, a cotton broker, investor, and ambassador to the Netherlands. The distinctive house has a blend of English, Japanese, French, and New England Colonial influences in its design.
