A nice spring stretch to start the week

High pressure will be working its way toward New England today and will furnish the region with plenty of sunshine accompanied by pleasantly warm temperatures and light breezes. Highs will climb into the low 70s. For tonight we’ll have a clear, starlit sky and it won’t be quite as cool as this morning with lows in the upper 40s and low 50s.

Plenty of sunshine starts the day off tomorrow, but a few clouds will mix in during the afternoon as the High slips to the south of Long Island. Temperatures will rise into the 70s again tomorrow to the north of Washington County. However, the close you are to the south coast the cooler it will be as winds will be somewhat gusty out of the southwest up to 30-35mph at times so that will keep temperatures in that region in the 60s and even some 50s along the immediate coast.

More sunshine returns on Wednesday and Thursday, but by Friday showers return as our next storm system approaches. Right now, showers look to endure into early Saturday, but we may be drying out later in the day with some sunshine returning for Sunday along with cooler temperatures.
