A Providence bar temporarily shut down after incident

A Providence bar has been ordered to temporarily shut down after an early morning assault and gunfire outside of the establishment.

The Board of Licenses has suspended the Liquor license of The Fatt Squierrel on Chestnut St. for 72 hours.

Police say they were near by at the time when they heard several shots being fired. Upon arrival, police encountered a man with an apparent broken jaw.  

There are currently no arrests in this case.
