A Soggy End to 2024
Take it easy if you’re hopping in the car this morning! Rain will come down heavily at times, and by the late morning many areas could wind up with 0.5-1.0″
That said, the rain is in and out somewhat quickly, easing up in the late morning. Clouds part in the afternoon, leaving us with a bit of sunshine before the sun sets. The wind, however, doesn’t let up much until the late evening. It’s not all bad news, though! If you’re not a fan of winter, I suggest getting outside with some of that late afternoon sun, as high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s today.
Tomorrow, New Year’s Eve, will start with sunshine and stay mild. High temperatures will be in the low 50s, and the coldest spots will land in the upper 40s. Clouds increase throughout the day, and our next round of rain enters the chat as we’re getting ready to celebrate the start of 2025. Showers creep in Tuesday night, and as the clock strikes midnight, we’ll likely have some pockets of heavy rain around. The heaviest rain, however, looks like it’ll arrive after midnight. So, if your NYE plans will keep you out into the wee hours of the morning, an umbrella or a poncho is certainly a good idea if you don’t want to get soaked.
New Year’s Day starts off with more rain in the morning, but will mostly clear out in the afternoon (although we could see a lingering shower or two). Highs will hover on either side of 50 degrees.
Our storm leaving kicks off a much colder pattern! Despite the widespread sunshine, Thursday’s highs will only hit the low 40s. By the weekend, we’ll only be in the low 30s!
