A Summerlike Sampler For Midweek

High pressure now situated off the east coast today will allow for warmer temperatures to begin moving into the region for the next few days. Winds will be predominantly out of the South-Southwest through Thursday that’ll import the warmer air along with increasing levels of humidity (but not too much) to complete that early summer feel. However, that wind direction will have a significant impact along the south coastal region keeping highs temperatures a good 20 degrees cooler than the inland counterparts!

We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds today with high temperatures ranging from around 80° in northern areas, to 60 at the shore. Now THAT is a stiff sea breeze! Some clouds and fog will redevelop later tonight with lows in the mid and upper 50s.

Wednesday and Thursday will be warmer, but also a bit more humid. Morning fog will also be an issue. Late Thursday afternoon we turn our attention to an incoming cold front that will bring showers and thunderstorms with it. Right now the timing of the storms looks to be between 2:30 PM – 4:30PM. However, as any storms move across the Ocean State and begin to encounter that cooler marine air that’ll be over the south coast and in Southeastern MA it’ll quickly take the punch out of those storms. So, while any storms may be somewhat stronger in western New England they will weaken quite a bit as they cross Worcester county and the CT/RI border.

The passage of that cold front will kill off the humidity for Friday which will still on the warm side with highs in the upper 70s, but they will cool through the second half of the Memorial Day weekend with more clouds and the onshore flow returning to cool things back into the 60s.
