ABC News: 8 and 10-year-old killed in Minneapolis school shooting, gunman takes own life

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An eight-year-old and a ten-year-old were killed and 17 were injured during a morning drop-off shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, MN according to a report from ABC News.

14 of the injured victims are children, according to the report.

The gunman fired shots through the church windows at the school on Wednesday morning at approximately 8:30 a.m., according to local authorities speaking to ABC News.

He approached the side of the building and fired a rifle through the windows toward children and other people sitting in the church pews, according to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara, speaking to ABC.

The gunman died by suicide at the scene, according to ABC News, and he is said to be in his early 20s and carried a rifle, shotgun and a pistol.
