ABC6 On the Road: Live from Federal Hill

ABC6 News was “On the Road” Friday evening with anchors John DeLuca and Alexandra Cowley in the capitol city. John and Allie delved into the latest going in the ocean state, live from Federal Hill.
Movies are a big business in Rhode Island as many directors are choosing areas around the state as their backdrop. A new movie, “Infinitely Polar Bear” opening Friday in theaters, was shot mainly in Providence. John and Allie sit down with Steven Feinberg, Executive Director of the Rhode Island Film and TV Office. Steven drops some hints about potential film and television prospects in Rhode Island’s future.
We explore Federal Hill, which is been the center of culture and business for the Italian population in Providence since the 1800’s. Cynthia Salvato, from Savoring Rhode Island, brings John and Allie on a tour of the places that make Federal Hill special.
Miss Rhode Island, Anea Garcia, makes an appearance after her return from Louisiana where she placed third in the Miss USA Pageant. Anea explains how she overcome some dark moments in her past so she could achieve her dreams, and how her grandmother, who raised her, is her role model.
Providence Police Chief Hugh Clements stops by to share what is being done in the city to prevent crime and keep the streets safe with more people out and about, such as the return of midnight basketball.
Finally, John and Allie sit down with Courtney Edge-Mattos from the Providence Ghost Tours learning about all the haunted areas in the city…
