ABC6 WeatherLab – Snow Comparison

Remember how cold and snowy last December (2013) was? Well, as it turns out, something good may have come from all that misery. Going through that frigid month made us better appreciate this December’s mildness. The top is always sweeter when you’ve been to the bottom.

Looking at the numbers, it’s obvious that this December was a lot easier to stomach than December 2013. Whether it was the snow, or the cold, or both, when December 2013 was over, most people were happy to see it go. “Here’s your hat, gloves, earmuffs, scarf, hand warmers and hot cocoa, what’s your hurry.” Conversely, this December was so nice, a lot of folks are saying, “Hey, December, why don’t you stick around for a couple weeks into the New Year. You can sleep on the pull-out bed in the living room. We recently realized that if we put a sheet of plywood under the mattress, then you can’t feel the bar raking your spine all night long. So you’ll be totally comfortable.”

The good news is, the forecast for the remainder of the Winter 2014-15 Season is for normal or slightly warmer than normal temperatures. The bad news is, sometimes long range forecasts are wrong.
