Accident expert in Read retrial to finish testimony, speculation of Proctor testimony looms
DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The final witness for the prosecution in the Karen Read retrial is expected to wrap his testimony in Thursday’s truncated session.
An accident reconstructionist has been questioned on tests he performed on Read’s SUV, and Read criticized his work after court Tuesday.
The defense is expected to start calling witnesses once the reconstructionist’s testimony is over, and the big question is whether Read’s team will call former trooper Michael Proctor, the lead investigator on the initial case, because of his work in the John O’Keefe investigation.
Proctor was fired from the Massachusetts State Police in March for alleged infractions during the initial Read investigation.
Thursday’s trial will be a half day, according to WCVB, as a juror has an appointment.
