Accounts payable clerk to be sentenced for federal fraud charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A Providence small business account payable clerk has pleaded guilty to ten federal fraud charges stemming from misappropriated business funds.

Grant Devillez, 38, of Connecticut, admitted that from February 2016 to July 2018, he defrauded Decore Craft Inc of $302,000 by transferring business funds to his personal account, to creditors to pay bills, and to another individuals bank account.

Devillez had access to the businesses accounts to pay vendors, but altered company records to show payments made to vendors.

Mr. Devillez will be sentenced on April 29.
