ACI inmate who walked off job assignment arrested

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Corrections said an inmate who was on the run after walking away from a job assignment at the Adult Correctional Institutions has been arrested.

Rhode Island State Police arrested Joshua Torres at the Super 8 in West Greenwich.

Chief of Information and Public Relations J.R. Ventura said that Torres was being taken back to the ACI Intake Center.

According to court records 26-year-old Torres was convicted of carrying a pistol without a license.
