Acts taking the stage for Newport Jazz Festival Friday
NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — It’s all about that jazz this weekend in Newport.
The Newport Jazz Festival gets underway Friday, and when there’s a festival, there will be road closures.
Newport police are warning residents, there will be heavy traffic on Harrison Avenue, and the roads near Fort Adams Park.
Unlike last weekend’s folk festival, there will not be a dedicated bike lane to the stage.
The three-day festival kicks off at 8 a.m.
The headliners are the Roots, Janelle Monae and pianist Jacob Collier.
