Acushnet man dies after being pulled from water in Fairhaven

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol Count District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III said an Acushnet man died after being pulled from the water on Seaview Avenue in Fairhaven on July 22.

77-year-old Wayne Silveira was pronounced dead at the hospital after police were called to the boat ramp in the area for a possible drowning.

Quinn said a person was performing CPR on Silveira when police arrived.

The incident was under investigation and the death was not considered suspicious.
