Two women taken to hospital after brick attack in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence officials said police responded to a fight where two women were each assaulted with a brick on Tuesday night.

Officials said that the two women went to Wisdom Avenue to fight another woman and that when they arrived they were assaulted by a man police said they knew.

Both women were taken to the Rhode Island Hospital with facial lacerations.

Police said the man had fled the scene and that two other victims claimed the man “pointed a gun at them.”

Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
