Agency head to meet with Lucchino after PawSox owner’s death

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ The chairman of the state agency responsible for the land on which the Pawtucket Red Sox want to build a stadium is meeting with co-owner Larry Lucchino following the sudden death of principal owner James Skeffington.
Joseph Azrack will have lunch Tuesday with the Boston Red Sox president in Boston. A spokeswoman for the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission says Azrack was going to be in the city anyway.
The spokeswoman says the meeting is not a “negotiating session,” but a discussion on how to proceed.
Skeffington died Sunday of a heart attack while jogging. He was the minor league affiliate’s public face and lead advocate for a plan to move the team to downtown Providence.
Skeffington’s death has led to questions about the next step for the team.
