AG’s office investigating police-involved shooting in North Kingstown

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police said the attorney general’s office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Friday night.
State police responded to the park-and-ride on Boston Neck Road just after 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Police are only able to provide preliminary information at this time given the active nature of the investigation, an officer told ABC6 News early Saturday.
One officer was hurt and taken to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated.
Police could not say what agency that officer works for or who fired the shots.
A suspect was apprehended in the matter, police said.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
