Almost Perfect Weekend Weather

Our local weather pattern is headed for change. While Saturday will be mostly sunny and seasonably warm with highs in the lower 80s, Sunday will bring in more cloudiness, jack up the humidity and finish the day with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunday will be warmer too with highs near 87. Sunday’s potential precipitation maker is a cold front and the air behind it is cooler and much drier. This means Monday will be partly to mostly sunny with cooler temps in the 70s and super-comfortable humidity levels. Tuesday will be a mix of sun and clouds with highs near 76. Another front comes through late Tuesday with a chance of showers. Wednesday will have partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-70s. Thursday and Friday finish out the workweek with lots of sunshine and highs near 80.

Tropical Note: Hurricane Erin has formed in the Atlantic and is on track to cruise by the Caribbean to the north and take a hard turn to the north as it approaches the continental US the end of the weekend. While computer models are in excellent agreement about the track of the storm, holding it well offshore to our east, we will have some indirect impact here in Southern New England. Starting Monday we will have rough surf, choppy conditions on the water and an elevated rip current risk through the first half of the week. Best advice here would be to consult with the lifeguard on duty to get the information on rip currents at your chosen beach, and if there is no lifeguard, don’t swim.

Be safe and have a great weekend!
