Amo concerned that Comey indictment an instance of Trump ‘evening the score’
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted by newly appointed U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan, a former Trump defense lawyer with no prior prosecutorial experience.
She replaced a different U.S. Attorney, also appointed by Trump, who did not believe there was enough evidence to prosecute Comey.
Rhode Island Congressman Gabe Amo spoke on Comey’s arraignment.
“We cant have a president who is going after his enemies systematically,” in an effort of “evening the score,” said Rep. Amo.
Amo said t he was worried that the charges against Comey were only due to the president’s quote, “vengeance and retribution agenda.”
