Amtrak expands service for Thanksgiving week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Amtrak station in Providence is prepared for an influx of Thanksgiving travelers this week.
Amtrak added more service and cars to existing trains between Nov. 20 and Nov. 27 to make traveling easier for those headed somewhere the holiday.
An Amtrak spokesperson told ABC 6 news that Providence travelers should arrive 45 minutes to an hour early for their trains, as they have been selling out quickly.
Prices vary depending on the time of day and what day the ticket is booked.
Last year, Amtrak had over 900,000 travelers nationwide.
Amtrak launched a notification system earlier this year for updates on delays, weather conditions, and other issues.
