Annual Cow Chip Festival opens in Dighton
DIGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The annual Cow Chip Festival returned to Dighton on May 30.
The Dighton Lions Club organizes the yearly festival, which includes carnival rides and fireworks.
The main attraction is the football field at town hall, which is divided into “grids” to match a board, and residents can buy a square of.
If one of the cows from Bristol County Agricultural High School “does its business” on a square, the owner is a winner.
The Lions Club uses the money raised to fund scholarships and other community improvement projects.
The festival has run for more than 30 years.
