Another cold day in Southern New England

Ah, yes, another cold day across Southern New England. Temperatures are in the teens this morning despite the sunshine, and this afternoon highs will only get to the upper 20s/low 30s. While it won’t be nearly as breezy as Monday was, any point where the wind kicks up will have temperatures feeling like they’re back in the low/mid 20s, so bundle appropriately!

Overnight, our wind flow switches to become southwesterly, which, along with more clouds, will help to keep things a tiny bit less bitter. That said, temperatures will still only be in the mid/upper 20s. A small disturbance could also bring us a very light wintry mix close to midnight, so be careful if you’re hitting the road late.

Temperatures climb on Wednesday! We’ll have highs in the mid/upper 40s– a vast improvement on the early week. That said, we pay the price for the milder air in the form of more clouds and precipitation later in the day. Right now, it looks like Rhode Island and most of eastern Massachusetts will be stuck in the rain, with some mixing possible later in the evening, while areas north and west of I-84 have a chance at snow showers.

After this system leaves the area, temperatures go right back down to the 30s. We’ll be in the mid/upper 30s on Thursday, and the low/mid 30s on Friday.

Stay warm!
