Another warm day away from the south coast

A good supply of sunshine and pleasantly mild temperatures comes our way again today with highs reaching to near 60 away from the south coastline. However, due to southerly winds the coast will be held in check to the mid and upper 40s this afternoon. Those winds along with dry air over the region today are also the cause for an elevated Fire Risk.

A cold front will cross the region tonight with little fanfare, resulting in cooler (actually near normal) temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday. However, Thursday for early morning we’ll see a weak disturbance pass to the south of New England that looks to bring some light snow showers before sunrise that will likely cause some slippery conditions on untreated surfaces as temperatures drop between 30-33°. After daybreak the last of any snow or rain showers will depart and temperatures will melt any slippery spots that remain and highs will reach the mid 40s with partial sun. Then, we’re in for another warm up heading into the weekend. Dry conditions will prevail Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday, but rain will be developing late in the day Sunday with highs in the low 60s.
