FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – An armed robbery suspect is in custody after he was held down by victims until police arrived.

Fall River Police were dispatched to the area of North Main Street and Airport Road around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

A responding officer on scene found one male subject, identified Quincy Sears, 25, of Fall River, being held on the ground by three other males.

The officer spoke to the males and determined that they were victims of an armed robbery allegedly committed by Sears. Officer Paquette detained Sears and investigated further.

According to the victims, they were outside of Royal Pizza on North Main Street when Sears approached them wearing dark clothing, gloves, and a ski mask. He then pointed a handgun at them and demanded one of the victims to “give him all of his money.”

Victims said Sears threatened to shoot them when one of them attempted to call 911. After obtaining the cash, Sears made his way toward the rotary.

Police said the victims began to follow Sears in their motor vehicle when they eventually caught up with him, subduing him at the rotary and calling the police.

Officers were able to locate a Replica Handgun BB-Gun in the vicinity where Sears was captured. Sears was still wearing the mask and gloves, which was seized as evidence along with the associated clothing.

Sears was arrested and transported to the hospital after suffering injuries during the scuffle.

Sears has been charged with: Armed robbery while masked, Intimidation of a Witness, and 3 counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
