Arrest made in East Providence head stabbing incident

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Providence Police Department said a suspect was arrested in North Providence in connection with a stabbing that left the victim with wounds to their head.
The department said a call came in around 7 p.m. for a stabbing on Crescent Avenue. A second call then came in from the Cumberland Farms on Pawtucket Avenue and Wampanoag Trail, where the victim was found.
The victim, who was stabbed multiple times in the head, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he is in “critical but stable condition.”
Police said the North Providence Police Department arrested the suspect and was transferring them back to East Providence.
Police added that the suspect and victim were known to each other.
