ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Attleboro police are investigating an armed robbery at a smoke shop that may be connected to two similar robberies in Rhode Island.

Police said two armed suspects entered the Lucky Lottery and Smoke store on Washington Street at about 11:50 p.m. Monday and demanded money. A third suspect waited in a white Kia Optima sedan.

The clerk opened the cash register, and one of the suspects reached in and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money. The clerk was not harmed in the incident.

All three suspects, believed to be men in their 20s, fled on Bacon Street toward Cumberland.

Police said the suspects that went into the store had their faces covered with masks and were wearing dark-colored sweatshirts, black sweatpants, white sneakers, and light-colored gloves.

Two similar robberies were reported in Pawtucket and Central Falls earlier in the night.

Pawtucket police said that around 11:22 p.m., M&R Convenience Store was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects, who got into the same type of car. ABC 6 News also reached out to Central Falls police, and did not immediately hear back.

Police are working on video surveillance footage of the incidents.
