Attleboro firefighters battle restaurant fire

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The Attleboro Fire Department said it battled a fire at a restaurant early Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to El Buen Sazon on Pine Street around 1:30 a.m. to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear of the building.

The department said that ventilation holes were cut into the roof to release heat and smoke, and the roof eventually partially collapsed.

Firefighters extinguished the fire by 5:30 a.m.

The building was expected to be a total loss, and there were no injuries.

The cause was under investigation but was not believed to be suspicious.
