Attleboro firefighters rescue entangled swan

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The Attleboro Fire Department said firefighters rescued a swan that was stuck in a fishing line on Wednesday.

Just before 9 a.m., firefighters responded to Cranberry Pond for a report of an animal in distress.

Upon arrival, crews discovered the swan’s wings and body were caught in a fishing line.

Firefighters went into the pond to rescue the swan, which was about 100 feet from shore.

According to the department, the firefighters were able to free the swan from the fishing line and the animal swam away.
