Attleboro man accused of stabbing brother to death due in court to face murder charge

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — An Attleboro man accused of killing his brother will face an upgraded murder charge today.
51-year-old James McCormick was arrested for allegedly killing his brother, Richard.
On Monday, police were called to a home on Melissa Drive for a reported disturbance around 3 a.m.
When police arrived, they located the victim outside suffering from multiple stab wounds.
He was rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
McCormick was originally scheduled for a dangerousness hearing, however the Bristol County District Attorney would later upgrade the charge.
The fight between the two brothers on Memorial Day started from Richard making comments about James’ girlfriend, according to his defense lawyer.
James allegedly stabbed his brother ten times across the head and body.
