Attleboro man dies after jet ski accident in Rutland pond

RUTLAND, Mass. (WLNE) — An Attleboro man died after his jet ski overturned in a pond in Rutland.

According to police, emergency official were dispatched around 4:30 p.m. to Turkey Hill Pond for a report of a jet ski that had turned over in the water.

Witnesses said that the operator of the jet ski appeared to be in distress before going under the water.

A dive team, several local fire departments and the Massachusetts State Police would later find the man in his 40s several hours later.

The release of his identification is pending notification of his death to his family.

The exact cause of his death is under investigation.
