The Attleboro man who struck and killed a Seekonk town official last year will spend 3 years in jail.

24-year-old Jacob Lacourse was sentenced Wednesday in Fall River Superior Court after changing his plea to guilty last month.

Lacourse was driving the car that hit and killed Karen McHugh, Seekonk’s Assistant Town Clerk, back in January of 2015.

Lacourse took off from the scene but was arrested last July.
