Attleboro names new water superintendent

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Mayor Cathleen DeSimone said that Dennis Morton was appointed as the city’s new water superintendent.

Former Water Superintendent Kourtney Allen resigned in December 2024 after it was revealed that human error caused the city to lose water from the reservoir.

“Dennis has years of managerial experience in municipal water operations, has overseen large capital projects, and brings a fresh new perspective for our Water Department,” DeSimone said.

Manchester Reservoir was back to full capacity in April after months of drought-like conditions.

The water level at the reservoir had been low since the summer months of 2024, and the state had declared a water emergency in the city.
