Attleboro officials assess damage after heavy winds, rain on Monday

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — City officials in Attleboro provided an update on the damage done and road closures after Monday’s storm.
According to officials, a number of facilities had power restored by 7 p.m., including Attleboro City Hall, the Attleboro Police Department and the Gardner Terrace senior apartment complex.
At latest count, the city said 6,000 residents were still without power.
As of 8 p.m., the following roadways were affected by the storm:
- Adamsdale Street is closed
- Hutchinson Road is closed, no emergency vehicles can use Hutchinson
- Mechanic Street is closed in the area of 3rd Street
- Oak Hill Avenue is closed in the area of 30 Oak Hill Ave.
- Tiffany Street is closed but may reopen later Monday night
- Wilmarth Street is closed near Hitchcock Street and Coleman Avenue
The Attleboro fire and police departments as well as the mayor’s office are continuing to monitor the situation.
