Attleboro police officer hit while searching for naked woman

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — An Attleboro Police officer was injured Friday night while searching for a naked woman walking near I-95.
Around 11:30 p.m., Massachusetts State Police responded to multiple calls of a naked woman walking along I-95 North near Exit 2. State police called Attleboro Police for assistance searching off the highway.
Attleboro Police said that as an officer was searching in his cruiser, he was motioned to an area by some civilians appearing to know have located the woman. As the officer slowed down to pull over, he was rear-ended by another vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.
The officer was sent to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The cruiser sustained significant damage.
The reportedly naked female was taken into police custody. The driver of the vehicle that rear-ended the police cruiser was charged by state police.
The identities of the woman, the officer or the driver have not been released at this time.
State police were not immediately available for comment, but Attleboro Police say they are still investigating the incident.
