Attleboro police seek masked suspect in city gas station robbery

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Attleboro police are seeking public assistance in identifying a pair of unarmed robbery suspects from a Tuesday incident at Route 1 Gas on Washington Street.

Officers responded to the business at approximately 9:52 p.m. in response to the robbery, according to Attleboro police.

According to surveillance footage, one suspect entered the front door of the gas station and kicked the wooden door to the cash register area.

The suspect yelled “This is a robbery,” and demanded that the clerk open the cash register, with which the employee complied.

The suspect removed an unknown amount of cash from the register and fled through the front door.

He was last seen fleeing on foot with a suspected accomplice to the rear of the gas station toward Allen Avenue.

The area was searched by multiple Attleboro police officers and a Massachusetts State Police K-9 unit, but the suspects were not located.

The robbery suspect is described as a light-skinned adult male wearing a red and blue flannel shirt, light grey pants and work boots.

He was also wearing a white hat and used a t-shirt as a mask.

Multiple fingers on the suspect’s hands were covered in bandages.

The accomplice is described as a heavy-set male of undetermined age who was wearing a dark-colored shirt and light-colored pants.

He also wore a light-colored covering over his head and face.

The clerk was not injured during the robbery.

Attleboro police detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects to contact the detective division at 508-222-1212.
