Attleboro woman accused of driving drunk, nearly hitting several utility poles and crashing into ditch

REHOBOTH, Mass. (WLNE) — An Attleboro woman is accused of driving drunk and almost hitting several utility poles before crashing into a ditch Monday night.
Rehoboth police said that officers followed an alleged drunk driver at about 10:30 p.m. who was driving at high speeds and swerving all over the road.
Sgt. James Casey said officers saw Monique Hines, 35, nearly struck several utility poles while driving 80 mph near Fairview Avenue.
Eventually, Casey said, officers used spike strips, but Hines kept driving before crashing into a ditch on Firetower Road.
Police said Hines was driving the truck under the influence of alcohol. She was charged with OUI liquor third offense, operating a motor vehicle as to endanger, failure to stop for police, resisting arrest, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license due to an OUI.
Hines is being held without bail because of an arrest warrant. She will be arraigned in Taunton District Court Tuesday.
