Authorities seeking charges against buyers in Boston high-end brothel ring
BOSTON (WLNE) — The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston said its seeking charges against 28 people who allegedly paid for sex through a sophisticated high-end brothel network that was busted last month.
Complaints against the group have been officially submitted to a district court in Massachusetts by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The defendants’ identities have not yet been released but customers of the brothel ring are said to include politicians, military officers and business executives.
A statement released from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts released a statement about the charges its seeking on Tuesday which reads,
“Our office made it clear when we announced charges of a commercial sex ring case on Nov. 8, 2023, that the investigation was ongoing and that there would be accountability for the buyers who fuel the commercial sex industry. Today, a Homeland Security Investigations Task Force Officer with the Cambridge Police Department submitted applications for complaints against 28 sex buyers with the Cambridge District Court. Until probable cause has been found, no names will be released. If probable cause is established and criminal charges are issued by the Court, referrals will then be made to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.”
In addition, officials said they are working closely with authorities in Virginia to begin the referral process of sex buyers from the Virginia locations in this case.
The referral process remains ongoing.
