Excavator stuck under bridge on Interstate 95 in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An excavator was stuck under a bridge on Interstate 95 in Providence Thursday evening.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said in a tweet that the excavator was stuck near the Thurbers Avenue Curve on the south side of I-95.

The Department of Transportation said all lanes are still open, but will have a temporary closure at 6:30 p.m. to clear the vehicle.

There is no visible structural damage to the bridge at this time.
