Avedisian to appear at Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) – Former CEO of the Rhode Island Transportation Authority Scott Avedisian is expected in court again today.
On Wednesday, Avedisian pleaded no contest to leaving the scene of an accident back in March.
Today, Avedisian will face the traffic tribunal for not reporting the accident to police.
Avedisian originally pleaded not guilty in April, before changing his plea.
Officials Avedisian rear-ended the vehicle in front of him in a McDonalds drive-thru in Warwick, which caused that car to hit the vehicle in front of it.
There was minor damage to the vehicles and no injuries, but Avedisian did leave the scene of the crash.
RIPTA agreed to give Avedisian a $67,800 exit package.
The misdemeanor charge will remain on his record for six months, but will be removed if he stays out of trouble.
