PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE-TV)— One of the best parts of the holiday season is enjoying the food. But over indulging can be a problem, especially for anyone who already deals with digestive issues.
Dr. Jason Ferriera of University Gastroenterterology says there are things you can do to prevent feeling so uncomfortable. For instance, he suggests cutting down on the portion sizes and also maybe limiting the amount of time you spend watching football.
“Some things that you can do, instead of hibernating on the couch and watching tv, [are] if the weather is nice or you can be up and be active and take a walk,” explained Dr. Ferreira.
Some of the biggest triggers are those foods that are high in fat and salt. Dairy products are also a big culprit.
