BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A baby was dropped down from a window of a Boston home after a fire broke out early Sunday morning.

The fire broke out on Norton Street in Hyde Park just after 7 a.m.

Boston firefighters say everyone got out safely, including the baby that was caught by a firefighter.

The fire department said they saw a woman hanging a baby from the second floor window.

According to Boston Fire Commissioner Paul Burke, “The fact that he went to the location where the baby was, where the woman was, it was amazing that he got there as fast as he did with the fire conditions around.”

The babies parents were sent to the hospital but are expected to be ok.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The damage cost is estimated around $500,000, according to WCVB.
