Back to winter! Frigid air arrives tonight

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The cold is settling in quickly out there.

Wake-up wind chills could be as low as 10-15° on Thursday morning! The afternoon will be much better, with wind chills 25-30. At least it will be sunny Thursday into Friday.

A more potent storm arrives on Saturday with a chilly rain turning heavier throughout the day. Rain totals of 1-2″ are expected, with locally higher amounts. Time to watch the rivers again!

Fortunately, the trend has been a strong high building in over the Great Lakes will force the storm slowly out to sea, which would give us a dry Sunday (albeit on the cloudier side.)

Temperatures will remain below average heading into next week.
