Barrington car crash leaves two dead

BARRINGTON, R.I. (WLNE) — According to Barrington Police Department, two individuals were killed in a car crash on Saturday morning.

Barrington personnel responded to a car accident with “possible injuries” around 8:13 a.m.

Dispatch was notified that a car was lodged into the woods on the Wampanoag Trail.

Barrington officials found a heavily damaged car off the roadway in the woods, upon arrival of the scene.

According to police, both occupants had their seat belts on.

A male appearing to be in his thirties and a woman in her twenties were transported to Rhode Island Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Authorities reported that speed appeared to be a factor.
