Beachgoers pack Narragansett Town Beach amid record-breaking temps
NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) — Beachgoers packed the shoreline at Narragansett Town Beach Tuesday to cool down from the intense heat across Southern New England.
ABC6 News spoke with people traveling from Massachusetts and even Egypt.
“I absolutely love it here, I mean the weather is great, the sand is soft, the sun is hot, I mean the water’s not cold so, what more do you want,” one beachgoer coming from Worcester, Massachusetts said.
He also said that it took them a while to find a parking spot due to the large crowds at the beach.
“Yeah we were fighting for parking spots trying to get in here, I mean this is the best place in town,” he said.
One woman visiting from Egypt for summer vacation said the temperatures are similar to their homeland.
“Yeah, its this hot, but the sun, its not burning [in Egypt], here its so burning,” she said.
Medical professionals are on the beach in the case of heat exhaustion
