Chefs hard at work preparing for a special Thanksgiving meal. Bellas sports Pub in Coventry, is donating food to those who don’t have a home to go to for a hot meal. Like 20–year–old Jose Hutnak.
"Knowing that people are out there and there well aware that the homeless community needs food, it means a lot,"says Hutnak.
Hutnak is just one of the men at house of hope in Cranston, who have fallen on hard times this year. David Thomas, a Desert Storm Veteran, and owner of Bella’s says he has always wanted to give back to the homeless community. Especially for fellow veterans who don’t have a home to go to for the holidays. So this year, he and his friend Sean decided to follow through with it this year.
"The way the world is going now a days, it’s not the brightest and the best. But if I can shed a point giving someone a hot meal then it is definitely one of my vocal points behind this,"says Thomas.
This thanksgiving meal will feed more than 130 people. Thomas pays for it out of his own pocket.
"They need help, so I said lets do it,"adds Thomas.
Back at the House of Hope, the men we spoke with say Thanksgiving one of their favorite holidays, and they are looking forward to many of the Thanksgiving staples.
