Bellingham emergency services respond to explosion at gas station

BELLINGHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bellingham Police Department said that police and firefighters responded to an explosion at a gas station on South Main Street.

The department said that reports of the explosion came in around 6 p.m.

Four people suffered burns from the incident, two of which suffered from severe injuries, and all four were transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

All four injured individuals were part of a contracting company working a gas pump at the time.

The area has been declared safe and the cause of the incident is being investigated.
