Bellingham teen killed in Northborough shooting
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early, Jr. said that a 16-year-old from Bellingham was shot and killed in Northborough in the early morning on May 12.
Early said that a pedestrian flagged down an officer around 1 a.m. and told them that a gun was shown at a house on Howard Street.
Police from multiple departments, including Westborough, Shewsbury, Southborough, Boylston, Marlborough, Berlin, and State Police, responded to the home when they heard gunshots and entered the property.
Early said the scene was “chaotic,” with hundreds of people on the property and multiple people suffering from injuries, two of which were gunshot wounds.
Two officers carried the 16-year-old victim to an ambulance which transported them to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.
The other gunshot victim, a 17-year-old, was treated at Marlborough Hospital and released alongside two other people suffering from minor injuries.
Three people were arrested on scene for firearm-related charges.
Early said neither the victim nor the suspects were from Northborough and the superintendent of Bellingham schools was notified of the teen’s death.
The investigation is still active and anyone with information is asked to call 508-393-1515.
