Beloved Cranston K-9 Zeus passes away

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department announced with great sorrow Saturday the passing of K-9 Zeus due to a sudden illness.

The department said Zeus served alongside Sergeant Gregg Bruno with great distinction, dedication, and honor, leaving a lasting impact on many over the years.

A funeral procession will take place Monday with a brief stop in front of Cranston Police Headquarters for a final salute.

Officials said the public is welcome to line the route and pay their respects.

Zeus was nine years old at the time of his passing.
